Music

At Darnum Primary School all children have a one-hour session of music each week. During this session the children learn how to play instruments including ukuleles, electric/acoustic guitars, bass guitars, marimbas, xylophones, glockenspiels, keyboards and percussion instruments. They also learn to read and write musical rhythms and songs and they sing and dance.

Once a week we have a rock band, a djembe drum group, beginner and advanced guitar groups and we also have a clarinet group. The children often perform at school assemblies and every second year we hold a music concert to showcase what they have learnt in class. We also run a whole school musical production on the alternating years.
