At Darnum Primary School all students have a one hour Japanese lesson. Our school is fortunate enough to have a Japanese exchange assistant teacher to support our Japanese program, creating an authentic learning experience. In Japanese sessions the students participate in a variety of activities such as games, songs and simple tasks, using movement, gestures and pictures to support their oral and written language development.
Every Second year the students in grade 5 and 6 have the opportunity to travel to Japan to apply and extend their language skills and for a cultural experience.
